Getting Started - RC equipment
Before you can start running races you will need to retrieve the equipment necessary for running races and the fuel for running the motors.
Most of the equipment, including radios,
start/finish forms,
keys for the motors, and clipboards is found in the RC closet. Your club key will open the
closet door. As you
pull out the basket you should disconnect the power cords connected to the
handheld radios. These should be left plugged in at the end of the day so
they will be charged for next time.
I take the entire basket with me on the RC boat. This way I don't need to put an engine key in my pocket, as they all clip on the basket, and I know that I will have all the the materials I need.
Out in
the yard in front of the club you will find the
marks and the starting pin.
The anchors are stored in the wood storage box nearby which can be unlocked
with the same key that is used to open the RC closet in the kitchen.
You will need to tie the anchors to marks. Please use a bowline and put an
extra half-hitch with the tail of the bowline for extra security.
