Who is on the RC?

For Sunday racing we have 6 people running races.   At least two people are on the RC boat (pontoon boat with flags and horn) and two people are on each support boat.   One of the two people on RC boat is the designated Principal Race Officer (PRO) for the day.  This person is responsible for the safe conduct of the days races.  This person selects the course for each race and provides direction to the teams working in the support boats.  The PRO and his or her assistant is responsible for starting and finishing each of the fleets in accordance with the racing rules published in the current club directory.

It takes more time than you would think to prepare the boats, load up the equipment, and set a good race course for each day of racing.  If you are scheduled for RC duty on a Sunday or for a Holiday regatta, please plan to be at the club no later than 12:30.  On Wednesdays the RC should be at the club by 6:00 pm.
