Hoover Sailing Club Burgee
HSC - A Photo Tour

Welcome to Hoover Sailing Club!

You'll soon recognize this view if you travel to HSC from the East by ultralight, or hot-air balloon. Most of us still come by car over that bridge. Our sailing and racing area extends about a mile off to the right side of this photo.
In the aerial photo above, just to the left of that grassy strip between the boat parking lots, is the club entrance. This sign on the right as you turn in lists the One-Design fleets to which the members belong. The split-rail fence won't stop a Hummer driven by a maniac, but there is a locking gate.

We focus on the water, more than the clubhouse, so lets look around the shore. Three main docks serve the launching area (above), a courtesy dock (right) and a mooring dock (below).
As you can see from the angle of this picture, the clubhouse sits on a hill, which makes it easy for spectators ashore to see the racecourse.
We have a nice clubhouse, too, with a porch and casual seating on the shore, and a fireplace, kitchen and amenities inside.
But, of course, its the people that make any club what it is. Pictures alone don't do them justice (take that any way you want), but we are a diverse and interesting crowd.
Kids and water turn out to be a good match - who knew? Our Junior Sailing program supports young beginners, up through teenage competitors at junior regattas throughout the region.
