HSC has a great sail instruction program for youth and adults.   Learning to sail will expose you and your kids to many valuable skills.  Just a few of those include water and boat safety, boat handling, knot tying, preparation, team work, weather and environment awareness, organization, and competitive sailing. The HSC's sailing instructors, who are certified through the US Sailing Association, truly make learning fun. Class size is limited, so sign up as soon as you can.

      Sailing is a great activity and sport for all ages. Developing an interest, and skills, in sailing can lead individuals and families in many directions; recreational sailing, racing, ocean voyaging, and vacation-cruising on chartered sailboats are a few examples.  Sailing is flexible in that you can enjoy this interest with many people or as an individual; you can pleasure-sail, or race, either individually or with a team.  Many universities have good sailing teams (Ohio State included); this allows young people, who are interested in sailing, to make friends and "fit-in" quick when they go off to school.  These college teams get many new experiences as they travel to collegiate regattas. Further, sailing is a great family recreational activity that is very affordable (you don't need gas!).
