President's Letter
Members of the Interlake Sailing Class Association:
The venue for the 2008 Interlake National Championship is being changed from Grand Traverse Yacht Club, Traverse City , Michigan to Lorain Sailing and Yacht Club, Lorain , Ohio . This has been made necessary by a recent fire that severely damaged the GTYC clubhouse. It was the judgment of GTYC and Fleet 38 leadership that hosting a major regatta this summer was not feasible. Fleet 17 and the governing board of LSYC graciously agreed to advance their offer to host Nationals from next year to this.
The change of sites will require a change of dates also. The dates for Nationals at LSYC will be Thursday, July 24-Sunday, July 27. Women's and Juniors will be on Thursday with Championship and Challengers Divisions Friday-Sunday. Further information will be forthcoming as soon as plans develop. Let's all show our support to Fleet 17 to make this a great event!
